Take care as Lady Ediths is narrow with many bends.

Raincliffe Woods (Click  centre  of map to enlarge)

Raincliffe woods lies 2½ miles north West of Scarborough There are several car parks sited around the edge of the woodland along Low Road. From Scarborough follow the A171 road (sign posted to Whitby). Past Scarborough Hospital you will see Yorkshire coast college on left, take next turn left into Lady Ediths Drive. Follow this narrow road past the entrance to Yorkshire Coast College and then Raincliffe School. and continue on until road bends sharply to right. You are now at Throxenby mere.

Public transport:

The No 13 bus from Scarborough will drop you at Lady Ediths/ Scalby Road (A171) from where there is a pleasant walk to Throxenby Mere along Lady Ediths. Alternatively you can leave the bus at the Moor Lane bus stop near St  Catherine’s Hospice and follow the public right of way over fields behind the hospice. This path exits onto Lady Ediths Drive at the side of  Throxenby Mere. (Take care as you will exit almost directly onto road)
