“Not  The Secret Wood”

11am to 3pm

Bank Holiday Monday, 3rd May

Following the news that Scarborough Borough Council would not be holding the popular Secret Wood event for the second year running, the Friends of Raincliffe Woods decided to stage there own event.

Themed around woodland wildlife the "Not The Secret Wood" day will include Birds of Prey, a bird trail, face painting,  mask making and plenty of opportunities for children of all ages to try there hand at making Bird Boxes, Bat Homes, Insect Houses and much more whilst playing and generally enjoying themselves in this unique woodland setting and, don't forget, all this is free.

Smaller than the Secret Wood it may be but the "Not The Secret Wood" day ,which will take place in the woodland adjacent to Raincliffe Meadow, will be as entertaining and hopefully as informative as it's predecessor.

Refreshments will be available to purchase or you can of course bring along a picnic and first aid and toilet facilities will also be provided.

In addition to the events taking place on May 3rd we have also planned a programme of walks and talks throughout the summer months starting in April with a Wildflower Walk led by local botany expert Chris Wilson. Starting at 3pm on Sun. 25th  April this promises to be an interesting insight into some of the wild flowers that Raincliffe has to offer.

Please note that due to the terrain some area's are less accessible for disabled and less able bodied persons, so if in doubt please contact the Friends of Raincliffe Woods.
